Pupil Premium Statement – 2020/2021

 

Ninestiles, An Academy has 1493 students on roll, 56% of whom qualify for Pupil Premium funding. The funding allocation for the academic year 2020-2021 is £728,000. The statement was published in October 2020 and will be reviewed in February 2021 by Dafydd Francis, Interim Assistant Principal, and approved by Alex Hughes, Principal. The governor lead for Pupil Premium is Adill Hadi.

 

Pupil Premium performance has shown significant improvements in student achievement in a number of key measures. The percentage of Pupil Premium students achieving grade 5 or higher in English and Maths has risen from 22% in 2017/18 to 27% in 2018/19 and increased again in the unpublished 2019/20 data. A similar increase has been shown in the percentage of Pupil Premium students achieving grade 4 or higher in English and Maths with 2017/18 showing 46% rising to 53% in 2018/19 and a further rise in 2019/19. The percentage of Pupil Premium students accessing and achieving the EBACC is increasing.

 

Objectives

 

  • Increase attendance rates and decrease persistent absenteeism for Pupil Premium students

  • To embed our academic language and literacy programmes to enhance students reading ages year on year

  • To improve rates of progress across KS3/KS4 for Pupil Premium students, particularly those with SEND

  • Support Pupil Premium students to improved behaviour

  • Further develop our students’ character to be culturally aware, compassionate, global citizens

  • Ensure all Pupil Premium pupils have the technology to work from home
