At Ninestiles Academy we are committed to providing our students with a comprehensive programme of careers education, information, advice and guidance (CEIAG) and work related learning (WRL) for all students. We understand that it is important to develop yourself through careers, employability and enterprise education, as well as learning about careers and the world of work and developing your career management and employability skills. Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) forms an integral part of student life at our Academy. We want to encourage all students to consider a broad range of careers and pathways that are right for them and use contacts from the world of work and further and higher education to help them understand where different choices can lead them in the future.
To support you with making decisions about your progression pathways and to investigate different careers you will take part in different activities and events to help you with this from Year 7 through to Year 13 which might include a careers fair, virtual visit to a college/university or attend a virtual work experience or workshops. We have included resources and useful links to help you with your decisions can be found here on the school website.
We endeavour to meet the Gatsby Charitable Foundation’s Benchmarks with our careers provision and follow good practice guidance from the Department of Education, Ofsted and other relevant bodies. Careers and work related education is an important part of the wider curriculum that we offer within the academy to our students. We believe that every individual should be prepared for the opportunities, experiences and responsibilities of adult life and that this preparation should be an important and distinctive element of the curriculum.
The careers programme is reviewed annually, and we assess the impact with feedback from students, teachers and employers so that we can continue to provide and improve the quality of our careers provision. Students destinations are tracked to ensure that they can successfully move onto the most appropriate pathway for them. Our Careers Education Programme provides students with skills, knowledge, support and experience of the world of work to enable them to make informed career choices.
