Summer School

An Introduction - Year 6 Summer School 2021

We were delighted to welcome 140 of our new year 6 students to take part in our summer school during the first week of the summer holiday.  After the upheaval caused by Covid to our normal transition programme, this year’s summer school was especially important.

Government guidance stipulated that Summer Schools would form one part of the educational recovery programme in response to the pandemic and that summer schools should offer a blend of academic education and enrichment activities. At Ninestiles we also wanted to ensure that all our new students had the opportunity to get to know their own school, meet their teachers and also make new friends.

Our Summer School was open to all year 6 students who would be joining us in September 2021 and around 140 students signed up to take part. The structure of the week was very much focused on providing students with the best experience possible and to help prepare them for their transition to secondary school.

Here are some of the key highlights!

The Structure of the Week

  • Each day started for students at 9am and ended at 2pm
