Budding university students visit Oxford University

BUDDING university students spent the day in the life as a Keble College student at Oxford University.

The 30 pupils from Ninestiles were given a tour of the life at the College from the dormitories to social spaces, and library to show the vibrant community and support network available to Oxford students.

They also met with student ambassadors, including one from Solihull Sixth Form who took part in a question and answer session into life as an Oxford student.

They also enjoyed a meal in the College’s grand dining hall before spending the afternoon at the Oxford Natural History Museum, where they explored the fascinating exhibits on display.

Keble College is home to more than 800 students and is one of the biggest colleges at the University of Oxford. It was established in 1870 and they seek learners who are academically aspiring and intellectually ambitious.

Alex Hughes, Principal at Ninestiles, an Academy said: “We are thrilled that our learners had the opportunity to visit such an esteemed institution as Keble College. The trip was a fantastic way to engage our learners in thinking about their future pathways, especially in the context of higher education. Seeing them interact with the ambassadors, including one from our own trust family, and take part in a Q&A session was incredibly inspiring for all involved.”
