Partnerships That Change Lives: Summit Trust Celebrated at Education Awards
Summit Learning Trust, which runs eight schools and a college across Birmingham and Solihull, is proud to announce that it has won the ‘Transforming Lives Through Partnerships Award’ at the highly regarded ‘Education Awards 2025.’
This distinguished accolade celebrates educational organisations that have significantly enhanced life chances for young people through powerful partnerships with community and charity organisations.
The award recognises the impact of Summit’s innovative Base Camp provision, a trust-wide initiative ensuring that every learner has their basic needs met so they are fully equipped to thrive academically and personally.
This achievement highlights the extraordinary commitment of the Summit Community Leads and the trust’s many partners, who together deliver holistic support to learners across all Summit schools and college.
Summit’s Base Camp programme goes beyond the traditional education offer and provides essential free support with food, uniform provision, hygiene products, digital access, transport, and cultural capital experiences. The trust also works closely with local charities, food banks, and national initiatives to ensure every child and young person receives what they need to thrive, both inside and outside the classroom. These initiatives are not means tested and support all families.
This award reinforces Summit Learning Trust’s mission, to deliver exceptional education and enable young people to lead successful, happy lives while making a positive impact on their communities.
Vince Green, CEO of Summit Learning Trust, said:
“We are honoured to receive this award. It is a powerful reflection of the dedication of our staff members and partners in transforming the lives of young people in the West Midlands. Our Summit Base Camp work is rooted in the belief that no child can climb to their potential unless they are first equipped with the essentials, food, warmth, transport, care and opportunity. Through strong partnerships, we are removing barriers and building futures for all learners, regardless of their background. We are actively sharing our offer with schools and trusts across the region and beyond, providing support to anyone who requires it.”
