Curriculum Intent
In Performing Arts, our intent is to create confident, creative, and informed young people with a love of performing and the collaborative skills for professional life after school. Our planning consists of a broad and balanced curriculum which enables learners to explore a diverse range of topics within the arts. Lessons are sequenced so that pupils will learn both the creative and technical aspects of the three subjects, including the language of Performing Arts, in order to access the next stage of their education and/or extra-curricular studies.
Performing Arts aims to provide a life-long love for the arts and encourage learners to explore the wider world of performance work and the cultural capital that surrounds it. Throughout the courses, learners will also gain the transferrable skills of confidence building, leadership, teamwork, communication skills, time management, self-management, resilience, and creativity which will allow them to flourish in the competitive world of work. Learners can explore these in more detail at our extra-curricular clubs and community events.
